ABOUT

IMG_1502.JPG

Petra’s approach to movement has been shaped by a lifelong study of the body in motion—from classical ballet and Pilates to the Feldenkrais Method®. Her work is grounded in the understanding that movement is not simply a matter of strength or flexibility, but an expression of how the whole person organizes, senses, adapts, and responds.

Petra began her movement education at the age of six, studying classical ballet through the Vaganova tradition before graduating from the Hungarian Dance University. Her professional dance career brought her to the Oklahoma City Ballet Company, where she was introduced to Pilates. This marked an important shift in her understanding of movement and began a deeper exploration of the relationship between physical organization, coordination, attention, and the individual experience of the body.

Over the years, Petra has continued to study movement from multiple perspectives, with training in Pilates, BIM Yoga, Progressing Ballet Technique, gymnastics, gait mechanics, the Silva Method, and the Feldenkrais Method®. These diverse disciplines have informed a practice that combines anatomical awareness and physical precision with a sensitivity to the individual ways in which each person moves and learns.

Today, Petra works with athletes, artists, and people from a wide range of backgrounds. Her intention is not to impose an ideal way of moving, but to help each person develop a clearer sense of their own organization and possibilities. Through attentive, exploratory movement, she creates space to notice habitual patterns, refine coordination, and discover alternatives that may feel more comfortable, efficient, and sustainable.

The Feldenkrais Method® has become an important part of Petra’s work because of its emphasis on awareness, curiosity, and learning. Rather than asking the body to work harder or conform to a predetermined shape, the practice invites a person to slow down, sense more precisely, and explore movement without force. From this perspective, change emerges not through correction, but through increased awareness and the discovery of new options.

Petra believes that the way we move is inseparable from the way we experience ourselves. When we develop greater awareness of our movement, we can begin to relate to our bodies with more choice, adaptability, and ease. Her work through Feldenkrais and Pilates is an invitation to explore that relationship—to move with greater clarity, freedom, and curiosity, both within and beyond the studio.

CLASSES

CLASSES

Feldenkrais® Awareness Through Movement®

The way we move is closely connected to the way we sense, organize, and respond to ourselves and our environment.

Awareness Through Movement® offers a gentle, experiential approach to exploring these relationships through slow, comfortable, and often subtle movements. Developed by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, the Feldenkrais Method® is a form of somatic education that uses movement and attention to refine body awareness and expand the possibilities available to us.

Rather than stretching, strengthening, correcting, or forcing movement, you are invited to reduce effort, slow down, and become more attentive to the details of your experience. Through this process, you may begin to recognize habitual patterns and discover alternative ways of organizing movement with greater ease, coordination, and efficiency.

Classes are suitable for people of different ages, abilities, and levels of experience. No particular level of fitness or flexibility is required.

You simply need a comfortable space to lie down, a willingness to move gently, and curiosity about how you move.

Join an Awareness Through Movement® class online via Zoom and explore movement from the inside out.

Functional Integration®

Individualized, hands-on learning through movement and touch.

Functional Integration® is a one-to-one approach within the Feldenkrais Method® that explores how you move, sense, and organize yourself.

During a session, gentle and precise touch provides sensory information that can help you notice habitual patterns and discover alternative ways of moving. Rather than imposing a particular movement or posture, the practitioner works with your nervous system’s capacity to learn, adapt, and reorganize.

Each session is tailored to the individual, with attention to your unique movement patterns, needs, and intentions.

The work may support greater ease, coordination, mobility, and efficiency in movement—and a deeper awareness of how you use yourself in everyday life.

If you are curious to explore Functional Integration®, I would be happy to work with you.
